THE EXHIBITION
Are guided visits available?
We offer an extensive audio guide at the exhibition for an additional fee. There are no docent tours of this exhibition.
Is the exhibition suitable for children?
We generally recommend this exhibit for visitors aged 12 and up. However, we ultimately allow parents and guardians decide if their child is mature enough for this exhibition and its content. Our exhibition is professionally curated to provide a thought-provoking and educational experience.
How long will the exhibition stay in St. Louis?
The exhibition is open through September 2025 for a limited time before visiting other cities around the world.
I want to go with some friends or relatives. Do I need to make a reservation?
To ensure your preferred date and time, pre-purchased tickets are highly recommended.
Can I take photos when visiting the exhibition?
Yes. Photography and filming for personal use, including all pictures taken with cell phones, are allowed in POMPEII: The Exhibition. If you are a professional photographer or member of the media who would like to photograph the exhibition, please contact [email protected] and [email protected].
Please no flash photography to protect the items on display with the exhibition.
Are the premises adapted to people with impaired mobility?
Elevators and ramps serve all public areas at the Saint Louis Science Center.
Wheelchairs and strollers are free to rent and are available in the lobbies of the Oakland Building and the McDonnell Planetarium. The Science Center also has a limited number of motorized scooters available for a $25 fee. Please ask a Guest Services team member and they will be happy to assist you. Please note that supplies are limited.
I have a hearing impairment. How can I visit the exhibition without the audio guide?
In addition to the audio guide, we can provide a text-based version of the guide. All displays and objects throughout the exhibit have individual descriptions, and all videos are subtitled.

Tickets are available at the Saint Louis Science Center. You can also call 314.289.4424 or visit the Saint Louis Science Center box office for tickets. Tickets will be sold for a specific date and time. Keep in mind that time slots can sell out, so we encourage you to purchase tickets in advance.

When should I arrive at the venue?
We recommend that all guests arrive at the venue at least 10 minutes prior to the time stated on their ticket. Due to the high volume of visitors to the exhibition, immediate access to the galleries is not guaranteed and guests should expect to queue briefly before entering the exhibition.
Can I get my money back if I am unable to come on the date?
There are no refunds and no cancellations, however you are able to exchange your future tickets for another time with 48 hours’ notice. To exchange your future tickets, please contact the Saint Louis Science Center via phone at (314) 289-4400.
Do you offer group tickets?

There is special pricing available for Saint Louis Science Center members, seniors and children. There are also discounts for groups of 15+.
GENERAL
What personal items can I bring inside?
We encourage you to leave valuables, large bags, and other personal belongings at home. For the safety of our visitors and the collection, all bags entering or leaving the exhibit, including purses, are subject to inspection.
Backpacks, suitcases, and duffle bags are not permitted in the exhibit.
Can I use seating or mobility aids inside?
Wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters are all permitted.
Are service animals allowed?
Service animals are permitted, but please be advised that the volume and visuals may be uncomfortable for animals. For non-traditional service animals please contact us in advance.
Can I bring a stroller?
Strollers are permitted within the Saint Louis Science Center; however, to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests, we kindly ask that you consider parking your strollers outside the exhibit entrance. Our staff will be happy to assist in showing you the best location to place your stroller before entering.
Are masks required?
Masks are not required for entry to the exhibit. We encourage all patrons to follow safety recommendations such as social distancing, frequent hand washing, and staying at home if they are not feeling well.
Are there bathrooms at the venue?
There are restrooms available.
Is parking available?
Parking is available at the Graceland parking lot. Parking is $10.00 for standard vehicles and $15.00 for over-sized vehicles like RV’s, trailers or semi-trucks.
What items are prohibited in the exhibition?
- Backpacks, suitcases, and duffle bags are not permitted in the exhibit.
- Weapons of any kind, including firearms, mace, pepper spray, knives, sharp objects, bats, clubs, tasers, etc.
- Outside food or beverage (Water bottles with sealable caps are permissible) (Exceptions will be made for those with medical requirements and/or special needs.
- Professional camera equipment (e.g., monopods; bipods; tripods; selfie-sticks, etc.).
- Laser pointers or flashlights.
- Illegal drugs/alcoholic substances (current prescription medication in the original container is permitted, provided the guest produces identification matching the prescription container).
- Cans (including aerosols), bottles, boxed liquids, metal, glass, or other insulated containers.
- Pets, other than service animals.
- Signs, posters, or garments with offensive language, phrasing, or symbols.
- Noisemakers, air horns, bells, bull horns, whistles, etc.
